15th April 2008 - Thank you so much Brian, Janet and Miranda for the wonderful new herb beds! Thank you Jack for the beautifully tilled beds. Things are really taking shape at the garden thanks to all your hard work. Dave, Jack & I (Bev) did gardened today . Jack filled one herb bed with compost and while I was raking it in I found a little salamander. He must have been hibernating so I tucked him safely into one corner of the herb garden, under some soil, so he could go back to sleep. Jack put compost on more beds while Dave and I harvested 14 1/2 lbs. of kale. We took 6 lbs. of kale to St. Vincent de Paul food pantry and they gladly received it and some receipes.

It stayed dry for us today but a cold wind was blowing. I hope the weather will improve soon.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone for workday on Saturday the 19th.

Cheers,

Bev
